Kirk delte konspirasjonsteorier som The Great Replacement, og at haitiske innvandrere spiste kjæledyr. Han mente Civil Rights Act var en stor feil, og beskrev Martin Luther King som «awful». Personlig anser jeg disse eksemplene som meninger og ytringer som er ekstreme. De som ikke gjør det, er gjerne enige, eller har de samme forestillingene som Kirk. Kanskje har man noen ekstreme synspunkter selv.

Hetfield har derimot engasjert seg for skadde ukrainske soldater, donert penger til ukrainske flyktninger og støttet Ukrainas forsvarskamp, stikk i strid med hva Kirk mente om temaet. Dette er et av mange eksempler på hvordan Russland og andre bruker denne saken til å påvirke.
