Jeg svarte på påstanden om at "Egypt hadde ingen problemer med å kontrollere grensen sammen med Hamas". Påstanden er feil, Rafah-overgangen har en svært brokete historie med gnisninger, uenigheter og ikke minst trefninger mellom Egypt og Hamas. Egypt har også samarbeidet med Israel i perioder. Ikke minst har palestinske myndigheter og EU vært involvert.

For å ta det tilbake til temaet som var de nylige norske medisinske forsendelsene som endelig kom inn i Gaza, etter uker i kø, så er problemet de siste månedene en vanvittig flaskehals på Gaza-siden av overgangen, som IDF kontrollerer. Det er de som godkjenner alt som skal inn og dette fører til et snegletempo.

Man skulle nesten tro at det er Hamas som er problemet.

Er en video på X der palestinere (Hamas?) står med kabler og slår en palestinsk gutt med spesielle behov mens andre står der og filmer og ler. Faktisk noe av det jævligste jeg noensinne har sett.

IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said in a closed-door meeting on Friday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not informing the military about the next expected stages of the Gaza war, according to a report Monday by Yedioth Ahronoth.

"If the prime minister wants an [Israeli] military administration [in Gaza], let him say so," Zamir told lawmakers at the Knesset Intelligence and Secret Services Subcommittee, which falls under the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

Zamir also reportedly criticized the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's aid distribution facilities in the Gaza Strip, calling them a failure. "I don't understand why they are spending money on it and increasing the number of aid centers to 12, if it failed when there were four," he said.

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid slams Netanyahu after his comments.

“Netanyahu’s statement that Israel is entering isolation and needs to adapt to an isolation economy is a crazy statement. Isolation is not a decree of fate, it is the product of a wrong and failed policy of Netanyahu and his government,” says Lapid. “They are turning Israel into a third-world country and are not even trying to change the situation.”

Hvis det stemmer, betyr det da at USA hadde kommet med løgn omkring det israelske angrepet på Qatar, og valgt å holde oljesjeikene i uviten om det kommende angrepet.

Mens Rubio dro til Israel hadde oljesjeikene en meget viktig toppkonferanse i Doha - som sjokkerte mange Mistøsten-eksperter som mente dette er provoserende fordi Rubio hadde valgt å prioritere angriperen og siden opptrådd som en sterk alliert av Netanyahu mens oljesjeikene bare så på i taushet. Dette er ikke mulig å forstå, kanskje Trump tror han kan fritt spille ut aktørene som ved å gi all støtte til det islamistiske regimet i Syria, gir Erdogan fripass mot de syriske kurderne og unngå økonomisk press mot oljesjeikene. 

I så fall virker det ikke. Gemyttene på arabisk hold er ikke fint, for første gang i historien siden 1977 har en egyptisk president brukt ordet "fiende" om Israel. Iran og Saudi-Arabia kom hverandre i møte. Alle - alle - muslimske maktfaktorer er i ferd med å slutte rekkene mot Israel - og i verste fall - USA.

An independent United Nations inquiry has concluded for the first time that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and that the country’s top leaders have incited genocide, in what it described as the “most authoritative UN finding to date.”

In a 72-page report released on Tuesday, the commission, which was set up by the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), found that Israel has “committed four genocidal acts” in the enclave since October 7, 2023, when Hamas carried out deadly attacks on Israel and Israel launched its military campaign.

These acts include the killing of Palestinians in Gaza, causing Palestinians “serious bodily and mental harm,” “deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part,” and “imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group,” according to the report.

The figure is notable because it is very close to the number of casualties from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which says Israeli forces have killed nearly 65,000 Palestinians and injured more than 164,000.

The Commission concludes on reasonable grounds that the Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces have committed and are continuing to commit the following actus reus of genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, namely (i) killing members of the group; (ii) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (iii) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; and (iv) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group.

 

253. On incitement to genocide, the Commission concludes that Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, have incited the commission of genocide and that Israeli authorities have failed to take action against them to punish this incitement. The Commission has not fully assessed statements by other Israeli political and military leaders, including Minister for National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and Minister for Finance Bezalel Smotrich, and considers that they too should be assessed to determine whether they constitute incitement to commit genocide.

254. On the mens rea of genocide, the Commission concludes that statements made by Israeli authorities are direct evidence of genocidal intent. In addition, the Commission concludes that the pattern of conduct is circumstantial evidence of genocidal intent and that genocidal intent was the only reasonable inference that could be drawn from the totality of the evidence. Thus, the Commission concludes that the Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces have had and continue to have the genocidal intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

255. The Commission concludes that the State of Israel bears responsibility for the failure to prevent genocide, the commission of genocide and the failure to punish genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Vi vet jo hva som kommer ... Masse ad hominen mot kommisjonen og FN, samt en solid dose whataboutisme og victim blaming.

At Israel har gått fullstendig av hengslene har vært klart lenge. Ethvert annet land som hadde gjort noe slikt hadde blitt møtt med massive sanksjoner og mulig militæraksjon. 

Men apartheidstaten får være i fred takket være USAs beskyttende hånd. De slipper unna med alt, ser det ut som.

It was the latest in a series of reported clashes between the army chief and ministers over how the Gaza war is being managed.
