Intel 12 serie Alder Lake cpu

Recommended Posts

Helst noen minutter før bestillingene offisielt starter. Bestilte ASUS 3080 strix OC, tre minutter før salget startet, altså 14:57 i september i fjor.

Intel Core i9-12900K samples are already available on the Chinese black market for 700 USD

What was happening on closed forums for a few weeks now, has now spread to public platforms. Intel 12th Gen Core CPUs are now available on the black market, as discovered by @yuuki_ans.

Intel supplies thousands of engineering samples prior to each launch to system integrators, OEMs, and motherboard makers. Eventually, a number of those chips are offered on the black market. This is not really happening unbeknownst to Intel, the company is well aware of the CPUs being sold before launch. However, the CPU maker does not usually intervene or track the sources of these samples unless it is offered alongside next-gen motherboards. In such a case, people purchasing those samples may cause a lot of trouble for Intel, by becoming the main root for leaks.

The samples being sold on Taobao second-hand market are supposedly Core i9-12900K, although the sellers do note that those chips are not displayed as such. It is said that those are ES2 which means second-gen engineering samples, which are distributed months ahead of qualification and review samples. Those samples usually do not represent the final state of the processor, as they may contain minor hardware bugs and lower frequencies compared to retail units. Still, they may work and may be of interest to some enthusiasts.

There are quite a few samples on sale, but they usually cost 4500 CNY, which is 700 USD. The final price of Core i9-12900K is not known yet but should be less than that. In any case, we do not recommend buying this CPU, considering the fact that the series will on preorder next month.

DDR 5 max overklokka = CL50  @ 8000MT/sec 🤣

 50/(4*10^9/s) = 12.5 ns latency

Intel Alder Lake with overclocked DDR5 memory to 8000 MT/s

Sitat

This should be probably LN2 . DDR 5 6200mhz needs 1.5v , Now for 8000Mhz , DDR5 needs at least 1.75v

Kanskje litt relevant for Alder lake med tanke at windows11 er veldig sterkt anbefalt for next gen intel

Windows 11 & 10: Benchmarks for VBS performance loss including HVCI

The system requirements of Windows 11 , which have been significantly increased by Microsoft, are intended in particular to increase the security of the new operating system. In addition to the required TPM, this is also ensured by the virtualization-based security (VBS) integrated in Windows. UL Benchmarks sees performance losses, ComputerBase has measured it.

VBS from Windows 10 becomes an issue in Windows 11

Virtualization-based Security (VBS) is already integrated in Windows 10, but is deactivated by default. With Windows 11, Microsoft now officially wants to work with OEMs to ensure that VBS is activated ex works.

According to UL Benchmarks , the developers behind 3DMark or PCMark, VBS is also active when Windows 11 is not installed as an update from Windows 10, but on an empty drive - and this would also affect many enthusiasts.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-issues-list-with-DDR5-4800-RAM-modules-validated-for-the-Alder-Lake-platform.568959.0.html

"We already know that Alder Lake supports DDR5-6400 and even DDR5-8000 specs thanks to the Gear 2 and Gear 4 modes that lower the memory controller speeds. Intel probably did not want to test overclocked modules as these appear to introduce increased latencies that may affect certain workloads."

Enkelte spill får bedre ytelse i gear 2/IF 2:1, men du må drygent høyt opp i frekvens da, typ 4500+.

https://optocrypto.com/asus-z690-motherboard-ddr5-memory-overclocking-capability-blows-up-to-6400mhz/

"According to the leak, the Z690 F-GAMING motherboard will support maximum OC speeds of 6400, while the PRIME-A will be limited to 6000. For models with DDR4 memory, this value reaches 5333."
