Hvordan stoppe katter fra å ødelegge hagen?

Anbefalte innlegg

5-bedlington-flickr-httpwww.petsadviser.5. Bedlington Terrier
The unusual Bedlington terrier could easily be described as a wolf in sheep’s clothing – they look like gentle little lambs, but they can be ferocious dogs who don’t have a problem with attacking and killing other animals, including dogs their own size.
Obviously, they are no strangers to killing cats and other small animals. Bedlington terriers are also very fast (their speed is compared to the speed of the whippet), and once they decide to chase after prey, there’s nothing you can do.
They have to be properly introduced to other canines, and can even learn to live along with cats – if they are introduced at an early age and trained not to harm your feline companion. Though they may even grow fond of your cat that in no way implies that other cats and small animals are safe. He can love your cat to the moon and back, but a random outdoors cat will always be just lunch to them.

As a general rule, dogs who were bred for hunting don’t get along with cats and other small non-canine animals. Expectedly, the Weimaraner is no exception.
They are outstanding dogs and will shower you and your family with love and affection, but your kitty will never be a part of their pack. We hate to break it to you, but even Weimaraners who were raised with felines may suddenly realize the cat is nothing more than a meal to them.
Weimaraners were created for the sole purpose of chasing after and killing prey, and they simply can’t help their nature. Of course, there have been wonderful friendships between Weimaraners and cats, but the risk is simply too high – what will happen if your dog attacks your cat?
The animal world is as it is and there’s nothing you can do to change that – if you have a cat, don’t adopt a Weimaraner, and vice versa.

12-afgan-hound-flickr-X-Motive-Pictures.12. Afghan Hound
Afghan hounds are one of the oldest hunting dogs known to man, meaning they have been pursuing game for thousands of years, and they are unlikely to stop just because you want them to get along with your purry friend.
These strong hunters were primarily used to hunt and kill hare, wolves and even snow leopards, which implicates that their owner would have a really hard time preventing them from chasing after a tiny domesticated cat. Needless to say that Afghan hounds can run for long periods of time, and once they set their mind on something, there’s no stopping them.
They are noble dogs and excellent family companions, but keep them away from felines. To put it simply, tolerating cats is simply not an option for the regal Afghan hound, and there’s absolutely nothing you can do to change their nature.

18-scottish-deerhound-flickr-menthedogs.18. Scottish Deerhound
Though the giant Scottish Deerhound is a real darling when it comes to humans, these powerful hunters are characterized by a high prey drive and could pose a serious threat to cats and even smaller dogs. Like all large breeds, they need a firm and experienced owner who will know how to control them and stop them from behaving badly (in this case, from slaughtering random outdoor cats).
The biggest problem with the Scottish deerhound is the fact that they can be devoted friends to your indoor cat, but perceive all other felines as fair game. Needless to say that, if you decide to take a risk and adopt both a cat and the Scottish deerhound, the two need to be introduced to each other when the dog is very young. Otherwise, the deerhound may never accept the cat as a member of their pack.

Plotts have been used as hunting dogs for centuries, and these strong dogs are considered top-notch hunters as their game includes boars, bears, wolves, coyotes and wildcats, among other animals. Despite the fact that they are good with humans, the majority of people use them solely for hunting and refuse to keep them as family pets. For this reason, they are not accustomed to living indoors and sharing their territory with another animal.
If you decide to adopt this unusual dog, apart from properly training and socializing them, make sure to introduce them to other pets from an early age as this is the only way plotts can live under the same roof with cats and other small non-canine animals. Sadly, you have to be aware that they can adore their feline friend, but still go berserk when they see a random cat on the street.

Klor?
