DICE... DICE... DICE... Shame on you.

Fra DICE:

"the PC players, who have been described by DICE officials as "whiny,"

"When it really comes down to it, patching is not our primary concern. We have spent countless hours already on this game, and many of us need a break. We plan on finishing the console patches sometime in the near future, but it simply isn't a priority right now. We are working on some additional content that can be purchased as DLC, and then we might start working on the console versions"

Among the promises made was frequent and timely patches, but with the much-anticipated game finally released last November, those who purchased the game on are finding themselves confused as the promised patches slowly trickle in, with only one seen in the past three months.

Last month DICE released a patch for the players, albeit on a lesser scale: only the PC players, who have been described by DICE officials as "whiny," would have access to the patch. It simply seemed like a nice perk, along with the free copy of 1943, for buying the game on PS3 was to have content released a week prior to the other platforms. Little did we know at the time that this did not apply to the patches necessary to make the game functional, in some gamers' minds.

Fielding questions about this a number of times over the past month, the official Battlefield Twitter account has delivered a standard answer explaining that the patch is: "In the works, should be done soon."

While there may not have been a great deal of people who bought BF3 for a final, polished product, it's not hard to believe some people out there are wondering what's taking so long. DICE has given no indication that a patch is imminent, and that's simply not right.

Things are only made worse when you consider what a mess the game's launch has been. There are server issues across the platforms that prevented people from playing online -- and, really, that's what Battlefield is all about.

In an interview yesterday, DICE representative Gustav Hailling revealed: "There are a variety of other problems EA and DICE are aware of, and not all of them have workarounds or fixes yet. When it really comes down to it, patching is not our primary concern. We have spent countless hours already on this game, and many of us need a break. We plan on finishing the console patches sometime in the near future, but it simply isn't a priority right now. We are working on some additional content that can be purchased as DLC, and then we might start working on the console versions."

DICE and EA releases are often faced with messy launches, and keeping in mind how problematic Steam was when Half-Life 2 launched (compared to how it's essentially worshipped these days), it's not a complete shock to see the first big game launch on Origin run into issues. Even so, it just feels like the platform wasn't ready. Combine that with the lack of support DICE has given-- and almost flaunted---, and players' frustration is understandable."
