I'm quite positive I couldn't survive alone for a year in the wild up here, seeing as the temperature here goes beyond -40 degrees in the winter. But in the middle east or the rainforest the temperature wouldn't be a problem.

Dressing yourself properly, with adition of proper foods and preparations, you easily could survive a cold winter. If the eskimos and such can do it, then so can you.

I have the first generation dual core proceccors, a p805 and a Asus Nvidia EN 7600 GS silent graphic card.

And it it impossible to run Need For Speed: Shift...

 

Any suggestion for a budget upgrade? One good graphic card or two mid range? New processor?

Sorry, but I can't give you a budget upgrade as I'm not that into hardware as I am into software. Someone will come along in not too long I'd guess though. I just upgraded my motherboard, processor and RAM-chips myself. I gained over 9000 problems and driver issues, but the performance alone is great. I seem to lack a certain cable to run from my motherboard to my DVD-ROM. Because of that I can't install my ethernet-card-drivers (?) which means no internet connection for me, and no way of fixing the other driver problems (Sitting on my laptop).

I could help Lidskjalv, but I just got home after a loooooooooong day.. So I suggest he opens a new thread at the proper place.

 

Mr.Graves: Have a look/ask in the thread Datadeler som gis bort, if you know what kind of cable tou need. Or you can look in the "bruktmarked". Or you can have a look in the "prisguide" and order a brand new one..

 

And yes. I that order.

Well, the problem is that the cable from the motherboard has a different end than the one to the DVD-ROM itself. I figure I might as well buy a new BlueRay-burner so I won't need to buy it in later. Thanks for the tip though.

well that might be a bigger problem.. If you know what the contacts are called.. you could google a converter(?). The have a lot of strange things out there. Or you could make one.. Or I could give it a shot.

 

I'm tired. So all sorts of sick ideas form in my head.

The thought of a converter did cross my mind, but I'm not sure I have the patience to wait for another delivery. I think the people at the post-office know my name by now The whole upgrade might become a little more expensive than I originally thought, but still, the potentianl performance of the computer now is too epic to give up on.

Nothing at all, I'm afraid. But at least it's not raining.

No snow in Kristiansand yet, but it's cold as hell though. I really haven't got any clothing that's fitting for this time of year either. With my bank-account being squeezed of every penny because of my recent internet shopping, I guess I'll have to freeze for the next months.

It was snowing here in Lofoten for a good couple of days, if not near a week, but now the rain has found its place again and wind is howling all over. A good autumn's storm

I'm getting there, though. I have cut it down a great deal.

 

Do you smoke? I respect those the don't, but I understand those that do
