I think the answer to your question lies in the very sad fact that data_brothers has left Team Norway.    They said that they would quit D2OL some days ago, but I didn't think that they would withdraw all their points as well. The reason they gave for this was that they wanted to focus more on computer hardware instead of distributed computing. The brothers are really into computers  ...

 

 

 

We never said we would quit D2OL.

We said we would leave Team Norway, which we did, and made our own team.

Reasons to do that is several, most important is the low interest to answer in posts related to hardware, low activity or low member count on the Team Norway forum is maybe why.

The other important reason is the focus on making Team Norway the norwegian DC center, and that the D2OL part of Team Norway lost a lot of active members maybe because of that

 

The main focus at Data_Brothers is hardware, and the effort to make hardware run software faster, as would be relevant to any teams who want to compete with other teams. We have found ways to produce more without overclocking, and could discuss it in forums with other forum members to try the theories and let other benefit of it. And there could also be other than us in the forum who could share tips and tricks with members if they were interested in doing so.

Think it`s called cooperating...

-losing your wad of gum in the chicken yard.

-having Swedish eat balls at a lutefisk supper.

-spending two hours cleaning up my room and mom says “Uff DA”.

-walking downtown and then wondering what you wanted.

-arriving late at a lutefisk supper and getting served minced ham instead.

-looking in the mirror and discovering you’re not getting better, you’re just getting older.

-trying to pour two buckets of manure in one bucket.

-having a mouse crawl up your leg when you are on a hay load.

-eating hot soup when you’ve got a runny nose.

-getting out of bed in the morning with a backache.

-getting swished in the face with a cow’s wet tail.

-waking yourself up in church with your own snoring.

-forgetting your mother-in-law’s first name.

-when two steady girl friends find out about each other.

-noticing non-Norwegians at church dinner using lefse for a napkin.

er@ser: Tja, de får stå i fred en stund i hvertfall. Når jeg får lagt inn D2OL på de resterende maskinenen så vil det alltids være en 3-4 maskiner som står og cruncher

I mangel på tilbakemelding fra prosjektarrangøren er noen brukere litt irritert og pauser d2ol litt. Er forresten blitt diskutert her.

Må nesten børste støvet av denne tråden. Jeg har hatt en like lang pause fra denne tråden som fra D2OL og Team Norway, dessverre (datakrasj).

Men så snart jeg klarer å stable meg og PC-ene mine på beina igjen, så skal jeg spytte ut ferdigtygga D2OL-pakker igjen!

 

Og i skrivende stund funker http://www.team-norway.org/ særdeles dårlig.

Jeg har tatt en tung besluttning: fra og med i dag kommer jeg ikke lenger til å bidra til d2ol, og flytter istedet oppmerksomhet og mine beskjedne ressurser over til F@H.
