  1. Ukraine has been building up to this moment for several weeks, with what appears to be a growing crackdown on internal dissent. In early July the government blocked the appointment of Oleksandr Tsyvinsky, a well-regarded detective, to the vacant position of Director of the Bureau of Economic Security. That was followed by what appeared to be the politically motivated arrest of Vitaliy Shabunin, a prominent anti-corruption campaigner. In mid-July a shakeup of the government promoted uber-loyalists, including a new prime minister. Then, on July 21st, the domestic security service and the prosecutor-general’s office launched dozens of raids targeting officers at NABU and SAPO—the investigative and prosecution pillars of Ukraine’s independent anti-corruption system, set up under Western oversight after the 2014 Maidan revolution.
Trump..has no desire to defend the structures created by the US Democratic Party, nor even Europeans who are afraid to criticize Zelensky, so as not to undermine the support of Ukraine in the West, did not exert any pressure on the Ukrainian authorities. Control or dismantling. What awaits anti-corruption authorities after searches in NABU Ukrainian authorities crack down on anti-corruption agencies as their independence hangs in the balance Allerede for to år siden kom det advarsler mot at å sidestille korrupsjon med forræderi potensielt kan gjøre stor skade på anti-korrupsjonsarbeidet, da SBU tar saken vekk fra SAPO. Two senior officials following the proposal, who were granted anonymity to speak candidly, say concerns are growing within Ukraine’s anti-graft agencies that Zelenskyy’s plan will take top corruption cases away from their oversight and pass them to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which falls under the president’s command. The SBU could, potentially, have the power to bury corruption cases involving top officials. The move, the officials say, could put Ukraine’s anti-corruption infrastructure under threat, and anti-corruption watchdogs are sounding the alarm. Ukraine moves against independent anti-corruption bodies Ukraine’s parliament has backed a push by Kyiv’s presidential office for greater control over the country’s independent anti-corruption bodies, in a move that critics warn would hand President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s circle more influence over investigations. Framed as a wartime measure to regulate investigations into missing people, the legislation includes provisions that would place Nabu and Sapo under tighter executive control. An MP close to the president said eliminating agencies supported by Ukraine’s western backers could throw Kyiv into jeopardy at an especially fraught moment, given that “we need money”. Civil society groups including Transparency International warned that the latest actions might be part of a broader effort to weaken institutions established after the 2014 revolution that toppled pro-Russia president Viktor Yanukovych. Western partners said in a joint statement from G7 ambassadors in Kyiv on Monday that they were “closely following” the situation and had raised concerns with Ukrainian government officials.
  3. Foreign Legion. What is known about the losses of foreigners in the Russian forces in Ukraine Based on the open data of the BBC, together with the publication of “Mediazona”* and a team of volunteers, established the names of 118 139 Russian military, who died during a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Among them are more than 500 foreigners from 28 countries, including the United States and Sri Lanka. Making a roll-call list, we did not use the data of the Ukrainian side and the publications of Western intelligence services. According to the number of deaths among foreigners, most likely, the DPRK is leading. But ordinary North Koreans do not use social networks, and official Pyongyang hides data on its losses, so we have not yet been able to establish the name of any dead from North Korea. According to South Korea’s intelligence, about 600 North Korean soldiers were killed at the front.
  4. Netherlands to make significant contribution to supply of Patriot systems to Ukraine – Dutch defence minister The Netherlands will make a significant contribution to the supply of American air defence systems [Patriot – ed.]. The details will be agreed upon in the near future. We are also independently providing additional air defence equipment, such as ammunition for F-16s, anti-drone equipment, radars, etc." Russia's goal is simple: to break the unyielding Ukrainian people. We cannot allow this to happen. We therefore want to make a significant contribution to additional air defence for Ukraine.
- 80 searches taking place across various oblasts - 15 NABU employees and were being carried out without court warrants, with most individuals accused of involvement in road accidents - SBU has now gained access to information on all covert and operational activities, as well as special operations conducted by NABU and SAPO
I do not know whether it is a habit that has gone from all Ukrainians in the subconscious from 2022, or the desire to ridicule something once again to show the enemy's stupidity at least in something. Since 2024, all this has ceased to be ridiculous, because first you laugh at motorcycles, and then you use them yourself, laugh at bicycles, scooters - you use, you laugh with tailors - you use; therefore, it is not funny nifiga here. Well, ask the infantry or other units how they solve the issues of logistics, rotation, etc., especially now, when they acquire a wide phenomenon of the circles of 10-15 km, where everyone forgot about vehicles and armor, because it is likely to be one-way road. On the modern battlefield, the combat unit should be inconspicuous, mobile and at the same time carry the maximum possible amount of payload.
  8. ‘She’s going to be big’: why Putin should fear Britain’s next fighter jet The first thing to know about Britain’s flagship new fighter jet is that it’s big. This becomes immediately clear when you see the full-scale mock-up that dominates a warehouse at the Warton factory near Preston, Lancashire, which is run by British defence giant BAE Systems. And here, size matters. Because it tells you a lot about what the UK, Italy and Japan are planning for the supersonic stealth jet they are building together. The three countries are aiming to bring the aircraft – which has been christened “Tempest” in the UK – into service by 2035 under an agreement known as the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). A bigger jet means bigger fuel tanks. That means more range and bigger payloads of explosive warheads. If Nato ever ended up at war against Putin’s Russia, experts say this means the aircraft would take off from a British airfield, fly to Russia undetected, destroy hostile air defences and then fly all the way back again. Not only that, but such a long range would allow Japanese pilots to strike deep into the Chinese mainland in any future Pacific conflict.
According to the publication “Radio Liberty”, Karjakina was found guilty of financing actions committed with the aim of forcibly changing the territory or the state border of Ukraine. According to the SBU, Karjakin through his Telegram channel collected hundreds of millions of rubles of donations to help the Russian army.
The Economist understands repeated White House warnings not to fire him may have helped, at least for now. General Budanov’s survival shows that President Zelensky retains the final decision.. Blogger explains the importance of Budanov's participation in military operations. Ukrainian blogger Oleksii Holobutskyi explained why the personal involvement of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, in military operations is justified. He noted that the public knows very little about Budanov's real work. The blogger explained that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, General Kyrylo Budanov, personally participates in military operations. As an example, the call sign 'Roland' from the 'Timur special unit' mentioned cases when Kyrylo Budanov personally took part in conducting operations. He also compared this to the approach of American General George Patton, who demanded that commanders personally visit the front and communicate with soldiers.
The neologism "busification" has been coined to describe Ukrainian conscription officers' practice of checking men walking down city streets in daytime for exemption cards and forcibly detaining those who fail to immediately show such a cards, and placing them on a direct bus to mobilisation centres. De dukker opp i begravelser, kafeer, kjøpesentre, på busser, you name it. Tidligere i år publiserte den ukrainske ombudsmannen en rapport om "Mobilization and human rights violations" hvor han sier"it seems that the illegal detentions and beatings from representatives of the CCC and the JV have become a new viral trend". Som ombudsmannen sier; not just some violations, but outright manifestations of violence and abuse of power. Among the most egregious cases: Physical violence and frequent cases of beatings of citizens. There are situations when groups of people are violently detained on the streets, in shopping malls, near the subway, using brute physical force. Whipping people on the roads. There are reports of cases where employees of the CCC and JV deliberately cause an accident to forcibly stop cyclists or motorcyclists.
Rada allowed Ukrainians over 60 to voluntarily mobilize in the army The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a whole bill No. 13 229, which allows voluntary mobilization of men and women over 60 years old. Now in Ukraine there is no upper age limit for service in the army. When accepting age citizens for military service under the contract, a probationary period of two months is established to determine their compliance with the requirements of military service under the contract. In case of non-compliance of the soldier with the requirements of the contract, the contract was terminated ahead of schedule, and the soldier will be dismissed. During the martial law for 60+ persons, the duration of military service is one year. It can also be extended for a year.
  16. As of early July 2025, Russia had engaged 700,000 troops in hostilities against Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service reported in response to a request LIGA.net. Compared to May, the group has increased by 60,000 people, and since November 2024 – by 120,000. As of mid-May 2025, Russia had engaged up to 640,000 troops in the war against Ukraine, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. "As of the beginning of July, Russia has engaged a ground group of the Armed Forces numbering more than 700,000 people in combat operations against Ukraine," the Foreign Intelligence Service said. Even earlier – in November 2024 – the occupation group numbered 580,000 people.
Ukrainian schoolchildren will be trained in the management of FPV-drones Ukraine will train schoolchildren to manage FPV-drones. This is reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the official website. This will take place within the framework of the subject "Protection of Ukraine", which is introduced from the new academic year. Among the new equipment for training in schools will be computer simulators, drones for practice, radio stations, tablets and other multimedia and specialized equipment. The course will allow schoolchildren to “prepare for the use of modern technologies in the field of security” Earlier we wrote that two years ago in the Russian Federation they were going to train high school students to use drones in the war.
  19. Tydeligvis mange colombianere i Ukraina.
  21. Poll: How much do you trust.. Valerij Zaluzhnyi (ambassadør i UK): 73% Volodymyr Zelenskyy (president): 67% Kyrylo Budanov (CIAs mann i Kyiv): 56% Oleksandr Syrskyi (forsvarets øverstkommanderende): 41% Denys Sjmyhal (statsminister): 25%
  22. Kronikk i Pravda av Steve Cortez om Zelenskys stabssjef, hvor Cortez basically spør "how can America trust a government that fires Zaluzhnyi but leaves Chernyshov?" "However, Yermak refused to dismiss this scandalous official", skrives Cortez. Litt flashback til Biden og Shokin her.. Washington has had it with Andriy Yermak Amid the pitched political battles that have engulfed Washington over Ukraine, there is one rare point of bipartisan consensus: Everyone has had it with Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
