Merz said that it is time for Ukrainian men in Germany to go home German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that Germany will limit the number of Ukrainian men seeking asylum in the country and will facilitate their return home. “We will work closely (with Ukraine – ed.) when it comes on Ukrainian citizens who have sought refuge in our country and will make it easier for them to return home,” he said. Merz added that Berlin and Kyiv will cooperate to limit the number of Ukrainian men seeking asylum in Germany. “It is crucial that these men are there to help their country,” the German chancellor said. This decision is motivated by the need for human resources to defend Ukraine amid the ongoing aggression by the Russian Federation. -

Zelenskyy's former top aide Yermak has retained influence despite stepping down – sources Sources in political and business circles have told Ukrainska Pravda that Yermak still maintains control over most appointees at the Office and has full awareness of what is going on. "One signal from the president and everyone would stop taking calls from Yermak," a UP source in political circles said. "But that signal never came. On the contrary, there is a signal confirming Andrii's authority." Another source within the government said Yermak's influence has not gone anywhere – it's just become less public: "Yermak's not here, yet he is here" was how the source put it. Sources also noted that a number of key government figures have retained their positions, and Yermak's influence continues to be felt in terms of personnel decisions. One experienced politician remarked ironically that it is impossible to "gain access to any brigades or enter the Bar Association" without the president's approval. "We thought Yermak was the problem, so we fought Yermak – but it was the president," a senior member of Zelenskyy's team told Ukrainska Pravda journalist Mykhailo Tkach off the record two months after Yermak's resignation. Some sources said, however, that it has been "easier to breathe" and access to leadership has improved since the recent changes at the Office. -

“There is no limit to human stupidity”: Budanov spoke sharply about evaders and mobilization “Look. That's why I was talking about unity today at this meeting. Because, above all, there is no limit to human stupidity and will never be. Second, there are real problems. Problems, let’s say, are mental in our society. Because, on the one hand, everyone says that it is necessary to fight to victory. And, on the other hand, everyone is fleeing from mobilization. And it all happens at the same time. This is a huge problem,” said Budanov. ..He noted that in the 12 years of the war and 4 years of full-scale invasion there was a gap between the reluctance of citizens to fight and the need to support the front. Mange unnasluntrere.

"Gov. Gavin Newsom is pushing cities and counties to ban homeless"

Skelia's tactics in this attack, Sternenko said, were just the latest example of a systemically wasteful approach to offensive operations in the unit — among other assault regiments — that leads to excess Ukrainian personnel losses, often for little to no tangible gains. "Treating our people like this is a crime, and there must be accountability for this" Skala har lenge hatt et lugubert rykte, men det er heller ikke den eneste problemet de har. In practice however, Skelia, along with many of the other units inside Ukraine's Assault Forces, are well-known to answer directly to Syrskyi, who himself has been notorious for an appetite for assaults, and micromanaging combat operations down to the tactical level. "What questions can there really be to the unit commander, if Syrskyi personally commands at the command posts of regiments and corps?" Bohdan Krotevych, ex-Chief of Staff of Ukraine's legendary Azov Brigade, and a frequent critic of the Commander-in-Chief, said in a post on social media on April 1. "He (Syrskyi) personally approves assault operations, personally distributes the majority of mobilized people to his favorite units, completely ignoring the order of the President of Ukraine regarding fair distribution." -

Since the 1. January 2026, all men between the ages of 17 and 45 must obtain a permit from the Bundeswehr’s career centre if they want to leave Germany for more than three months – whether for a semester abroad, a job or a longer trip. This obligation now applies permanently and no longer only in the event of tension or defense, i.e. in the case of a concrete military threat situation. For millions of men in Germany, it remains unclear for the time being how the new exit permit obligation will be implemented in practice – and what happens if you simply do not know it. -

Zelenskyy: Ten interceptor production plants being built around the world President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he is aware of approximately ten interceptor production plants that were being built in various parts of the world without the state’s knowledge. "I am aware of about ten plants, to be honest, that were being built around the world behind the state’s back, supposedly so that, God forbid, nothing would be lost. I believe they will lose," Zelenskyy said during a video call with journalists on Saturday. At the same time, drones-interceptors of these companies were sometimes sold to third countries. The President gave an example when one company sold a thousand interceptors to another country for $3.5 million. At the same time, he added that the country that purchased interceptors subsequently turned to Ukraine due to the lack of combat units in the supplied drones. The president described a similar situation after a visit to one of the European states, which also received part of the interceptors without explosive components and asked to send operators. Ukraine has refused such assistance. “I was also in another European state. I recently had an official visit here. Some of the interceptors were also sold. No explosives again. And I'm being asked, can I send more operators? I say no,” Zelensky said. The head of state also said that the company that sold drones for $3.5 million, in parallel received a state contract for € 300 million, calling it “quite serious”. -

India forsetter å handle russisk luftvern.... India Backs Russian Weapons as Part of $25 Billion Purchase India cleared the purchase of 2.38 trillion rupees ($25 billion) of weapons including more Russian-made missile systems, according to the Ministry of Defence, a move that could potentially annoy the US. The Defence Acquisition Council, headed by minister Rajnath Singh, cleared the purchase of five more Russian-made surface-to-air missile systems at an estimated cost of $6.1 billion, an official aware of the matter said, asking not to be named as the issue is sensitive. “The S-400 system will counter enemy long-range air vectors targeting vital areas,” the ministry said in a statement, without giving more details. India has three of these systems, which were used in the four-day conflict with Pakistan in May last year. Two more are likely to be delivered in the next few months. President Donald Trump’s administration has criticized India for buying Russian hardware. The move to buy more Russian equipment could be a potential irritant in the relationship, which deteriorated last year as talks over a trade deal dragged. -

Også militæret i Ukraina merkee "oljekrisen". Global energy crisis threatens Ukraine’s war effort Two soldiers on the ground in Ukraine told POLITICO that the latest price shocks are hurting their fuel reserves for combat vehicles like tanks, artillery, and armored personnel carriers. “The fuel prices are terrible,” said one senior Ukrainian soldier with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media. “Even in the armed forces we are very limited in fuel right now.” Another soldier explained how diesel is prioritized for combat units fighting the creeping Russian advance in the country's east, where heavy fighting concentrated in the Donbas region continues to rage. “[We’re] not on the front,” he said of his location. “So we aren’t a priority ... our tanks and other shit aren’t moving around a lot so there’s less of a priority to send us diesel than say other units.” -

Russia wants to limit contact with the outside world Over the past few weeks they have begun blocking mobile internet services in Moscow and St Petersburg, plunging Russia’s two largest cities into a digital black hole. In doing so the spooks have disrupted everyday life, triggered popular resentment and created divisions within the elite. The blocking in Moscow began on March 6th—apparently on the orders of the FSB security service—and lasted for almost three weeks before being partly reversed. Russian officials cited security reasons. Most Muscovites assumed that a new firewall system was being tested to disconnect Russia from the global internet and allow access only to approved sites. Such blackouts have been common in the provinces, but not in Moscow or St Petersburg. Henger vel i stor grad sammen å blokkere ukrainske droner fra å bruke mobilsignaler though. -

Ukraine already needs 8.5 million migrants – Migration Policy Office Ukraine is already short of millions of workers, and once the war ends, that shortage will become catastrophic. Vasyl Voskoboinyk, head of the Migration Policy Office and president of the All-Ukrainian Association of International Employment Companies, said this in an interview with the Dumai YouTube channel. He said that, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy in December 2023, the country would need an additional 4.5 million workers over the next ten years – on top of the prewar level – in order to sustain annual economic growth of 7 percent. But in December 2025, the International Labour Organization issued an even more alarming estimate, putting the labor shortfall at between 8.2 and 8.6 million people. -

US senators aim to sanction Hungary over obstructing Ukraine aid Bipartisan bill from Shaheen and Tillis comes as Prime Minister Viktor Orbán holds up €90bn loan to Kyiv. If passed, the Block Putin act would require President Donald Trump to impose financial sanctions and visa bans on Hungarian government officials involved in the country’s purchases of Russian oil and gas, and who have sought to block support for Ukraine. -

Dozens of Ukrainian men have been deported by ICE. Some were sent straight to the military “When I was on the plane to Ukraine, I knew what was coming. But I hoped that perhaps they’d at least let me go home first. Everything happened even faster than I’d thought. I never made it home; I haven’t seen my parents yet,” the 28-year-old told CNN. The group was flown to Poland and transported to the Ukrainian border by US officials who then handed them over to Polish officials who escorted them across the border. One of the people on the flight said they were handcuffed until after crossing the border. -
