Bonna86 Skrevet 7. juni 2008 Skrevet 7. juni 2008 Thank you. And I'm sure you'll do just fine in Greece. Actually, I had a hard time there, because I didn't understand a word of what they said (and they didn't understand English - or their English were very poor indeed). Depends on where in Greece one travels of course.
master air Skrevet 16. juni 2008 Skrevet 16. juni 2008 Finished my English exam today, last out of four exams this semester. It is sweet having summer vacation now. English next year is going to be a breeze. 100%/6 here I come!
Tunky Skrevet 17. juni 2008 Skrevet 17. juni 2008 (endret) Yeah. Summer vacation... I still have 3 days left, but very unusual days. Tomorrow we're going to finish up our project. We have planed a "wedding" and tomorrow is the day. And we're going on a trip from thursday to friday. I hope it starts raining and the trip gets cancelled. Yesterday I had a long conversation (like 30 minutes ++) with a english man on the phone. I spoke to a service man from Dell, because my computer didn't work. Now it works, 'cause a man was here fixing it today. Endret 17. juni 2008 av Knewt
LOOM Skrevet 17. juni 2008 Skrevet 17. juni 2008 (endret) Well. I talked to a bunch of Chinese Dell Business Support guys on the phone the other day. Let me tell you this, they are much worse than any of us. Atleast we have the telly, movies, internet and other ways every day where we have to read/understand/talk english. They often don't have that. Endret 17. juni 2008 av LOOM
Vitharr Skrevet 20. juni 2008 Skrevet 20. juni 2008 Wooohooooo! Going to Norway the 26th of July for the first time
Skarstard Skrevet 20. juni 2008 Skrevet 20. juni 2008 "Tulsa, Oklahoma". So, where, exactly, are you headed?
Vitharr Skrevet 20. juni 2008 Skrevet 20. juni 2008 (endret) I'm headed to Stavanger for about 3 weeks (I will probably go to Klepp for about 4 days while in that area), then I'll go up to Trondheim and hang around there for a while before finally getting on a bus to Surnadal to attend Nordmøre Folkehøgskule! Endret 20. juni 2008 av Vitharr
Vitharr Skrevet 20. juni 2008 Skrevet 20. juni 2008 Ah yes my Norwegian is actually pretty decent, hehe. But I've lost a bit of it since I haven't actually spoken it in about 6 months...
Tunky Skrevet 21. juni 2008 Skrevet 21. juni 2008 (endret) How/why did you learn Norwegian? Endret 21. juni 2008 av Knewt
master air Skrevet 21. juni 2008 Skrevet 21. juni 2008 My guess is that he has been on an exchange in Tulsa, Oklahoma. My Norwegian skills sucks after a year abroad without reading any Norwegian books and barely speaking Norwegian.
Vitharr Skrevet 21. juni 2008 Skrevet 21. juni 2008 Nah I'm not on exchange - I live in Tulsa, but I was actually raised in Venezuela. I have an American Dad and Australian mom...so neither of them speak Norwegian. I learned Norwegian via books, the internet, and a chemistry teacher I had who was from Stavanger! Why did I want to learn Norwegian? Because somehow about 3 and a half years ago I became deeply interested in Norway, hehe.
Alpakasso Skrevet 21. juni 2008 Skrevet 21. juni 2008 What makes you interested in Norway? Personally, I find Norway pretty dull/boring, but that's probably because I live here...
Essem Skrevet 21. juni 2008 Skrevet 21. juni 2008 That's great You just learned Norwegian because you became interested? I thought the only reasons people outside Norway would learn the language was Ibsen or black metal.
Programvare Skrevet 21. juni 2008 Skrevet 21. juni 2008 That's great You just learned Norwegian because you became interested? I thought the only reasons people outside Norway would learn the language was Ibsen or black metal. That's pretty true actually ^^
Vitharr Skrevet 22. juni 2008 Skrevet 22. juni 2008 Well I must admit that I am a metalhead as well, but I didn't learn the language just because of Black Metal. I also think that Norwegian culture and history is really interesting, and nature there is BEAUTIFUL - I'm a big fan of hiking and things involving being outdoors, which is why I chose Friluftsliv for FHS. I must say that I don't like Ibsen at all, drugiS Erlend Loe, Ingvar Ambjørnsen, and Knut Hamsun are pretty cool though! But there is one thing I am kind of worried about while I'm there during summer, before FHS starts. I used to speak with more or less of a Stavanger accent, but now that accent has kind of died and I sound more foreign - will people speak to me in English when they notice that?
Essem Skrevet 22. juni 2008 Skrevet 22. juni 2008 If you speak Norwegian I'm sure everybody would answer you in Norwegian.
master air Skrevet 22. juni 2008 Skrevet 22. juni 2008 And if they do reply in English, just ask politely if they could reply in Norwegian instead so your Norwegian will improve.
