Help me pick TFT :)

Hello, very nice forum you have... you seem to know alot here

 

I have to order 2 TFT in the end of this week so I have no time to wait for the big guide... :/ Going to lan in less than 2 weeks

 

I have theese TFTs to pick from:

Samsung 193T 19"

Hercules Prophetview 191BLK 19"

 

Viewsonic VP171S 17"

Samsung 172X 17"

Samsung 173T

Hercules Prophetview 920P 17"

 

(or any at http://www.jmedata.se )

 

 

I would prefer 19", wish would you advice me to buy ?

My girlfriend is alitle afraid that the performance on 19" is not good enough... what do you think ? If she decide to go for 17", what should she pick ?

 

 

The screens is for gaming / movies and ofc windows overall

Well there hasn't been much tests of tft displays here on www.hardware.no (merk bitterheten , virker som dere bare slenger ansvaret på oivind dahle jo ) but how about to visit other hardware sites like www.tomshardware.com, they've had a couple tft roundups i think. If it were me though i'd go for a 17" hence 17" is quite equal to 19" in ctr measurements(actually the thing is that lcd displays actually delivers what they promise... like a 17" lcd screen really is a 17" screen and not like ctr monitors that maybe is " 19" " but really is about 17 real inches...)

to mee that is enough, so if you didn't know that i think you would be surprised when the 19" lcd actually is about the same size as the 21" crt screen you have

 

Other than that I cant help you with cause my experience with lcd displays limits to the one placed on my old minidisk player - and the one on my old broken digital watch and of course my very nice 3330 cell phone

hehe Well I was visiting alot of hardware sites and that was what got me here =) As I said you seem to know alot here (read: oivind dahle) hehe

 

If it wasn't for my little "time problem" I would have just waited for the big test

 

I know about the 17" TFT == 19" CRT, that's why I want an 19" TFT hehe Having a 21" CRT at work is no good for my healt

 

I appreciate your help and hope for more here

 

 

To make it easy, if you had to pick one 19" and one 17" of the one I listed here, what would you pick ? (considering it's gonna be used for games/movie/etc?) I would love oivind dahles vote

You can also consider Hyundai Q17, I got it myself and it's outstanding! It's perfect for gaming, movies and regular Windsows usage. If you buy one (or two), you won't regret it

Thx both of you =) I must buy it from jmedata.se and they don't have Hyundai, so you must make a new choice from the list I removed the ones I'm not very intrested in like Philips, AOC (too ugly) hehe

If you are to believe the test on Tom's Hardware, the "Hercules 17" LCD Prophetview 920PRO" is the best one.
