brillan Skrevet 18. mars 2005 Skrevet 18. mars 2005 Fant denne: Note: The forum keeps swallowing my post, sorry if it gets doubleposted... Wow, great guide. I thought I'd drop in two cents here re: Purge; apologies if they've already been covered on other topics on the Shaman board. I don't mean to sound like I'm lecturing perfectly intelligent shamans who already know these things, I just figured that I'd add the extra info in case it'd be useful. - Auras (Devotion, etc): I have had mine purged from me, judging from the occasional PVP fights I've been in (not just by dying, either.) I haven't had a friendly shaman willing to engage me in PVP or the Arena purely to doublecheck though. Since paladin auras cost nothing to cast, it's not really worth it to engage in a Purge/Aura battle with them. That's assuming you watch for the little glowing activation mark beneath their feet at all. You can identify the aura if you know what you're looking for, if anyone wants to make sure a paladin isn't swapping to a Fire Resistance right before the mage unloads. Probably the only reason I can think of to Purge a paladin of auras deliberately is because some of them (myself included) are so used to having the aura in place that they don't notice right away when it suddenly disappears. - Shields: Divine Shield/Protection is our infamous 'immune to all except occasional bugs.' Divine Shield lasts for longer and allows us to attack at a reduced speed, while Protection doesn't. They're both on the same 5 min timer, so as was mentioned before, they're not two shields... just one. Since they provide immunity to spells, that initial immunity kicks in to resist Purge as well, which is the explanation there. Blessing of Protection is our second option, and it is the one that allows people to be affected by spells. Since it's a Blessing, it's treated the same way as all of our others--it can be cast on other party members, but can be Purged just as readily as any other Blessing. The reason it can be affected by Purge is because the target can still be affected by spells. As a side note, because it's a Blessing, casting it on a target will replace any other Blessing cast on that same target by the same paladin, so it's a form of voluntary debuff on its own. Paladin talents can reduce the cooldown of this Blessing to 3 min, if case anyone's noticed a shield going off frequently and wondered why.
