The good: Smooth 3X zoom lens; very little shutter lag; excellent value; true, well-saturated color; shoots video clips and works as a Webcam.

 

The bad: Too much menu-surfing required; LCD is too contrasty and oversaturated; ill-conceived combined media/battery compartment; no self-timer in Manual mode; no video output for displaying pictures on a TV.

 

The bottom line: The Fujifilm FinePix 2600 Zoom offers an excellent value, combining the low cost and design simplicity of a novice's camera with the picture quality and extra features you'd hope to find in a higher-priced model.
