Studio Canal has revealed an upcoming Blu-ray boxset for the three 'Les Bronzes' films, making it the first Blu-ray release to come from the formally HD DVD exclusive studio. The Studio Canal library is very extensive, as they distribute titles for many of the major studios. No release date specs have been released at this time. Acer vil også bli med i BDA og vil legge inn Blu-Ray spillere og brennere i sine laptop-er. BenQ vil slippe en BD-ROM driver til PC til $199. Sharp slipper BD-HP20S Blu-Ray spiller, og vil komme med specs fortløpende. Philips slipper BDP-7100 Blu-Ray spiller (oppfølgeren til 1. generasjons spilleren (BDP-9000) som vil støtte 1080p/24/60, Dolby TrueHD og DTS-HD. Daewoo slipper DBP-1000 Blu-Ray spiller med BD Profile 2.0 dermed med PiP og onlinemuligheter. Detaljerte specs er ikke kommet på dette tidspunktet dog. Loewe vil også introdusere en ny Blu-Ray spiller døpt Blutech Vision Blu-ray player. Announced today as the cheapest entry-level HD DVD player Venturer's SHD7000 HD DVD player gets a price. We just talked with a representative from the company who said the suggested retail price will be $199. Normal sellers of Venturer products include Wall-mart, so a price around $150 in stores should not be impossible. We will see. Dragoncrest Skrevet 31. august 2007 Forfatter Rapporter Del Skrevet 31. august 2007 HD DVD Day at IFA 2007 It was the HD DVD camp's turn in the spotlight today at IFA (the European consumer electronics trade fair), with several HD DVD supporting companies speaking out at a well-attended press conference. While yesterday's BDA press conference was heavy on new hardware announcements for the European market, the HD DVD camp took a decidely different approach, focusing less on new products and more on what its backers see as the format's advantages over Blu-ray. The centerpiece of the presentation was a brief appearance by Chris Saito of Paramount, the company that famously shook up the high-def format earlier this month when it announced it would drop support of Blu-ray, and would instead exclusively back HD DVD. Saito said that his company's decision came after a year's worth of evaluation, and was based on the format being the best value not only to consumers, but to Paramount as well, in terms of cost of replication. Other speakers at the comference emphasized the format's "ever growing list of worldwide supporters," its affordability, its lead in stand-alone player sales, and its higher attach rates, (4 discs per player, 7 times that of BD). "The HD format is about stand-alone players, not game systems. We don’t think gamers will buy movies," said HD DVD Promo Group co-chairman Ken Graffeo. In a direct dig at the BDA, Graffeo pointed to the HD DVD group's mandatory interactive specs, stating that all HD DVD players are required to support the format's advanced interactive features. "Sadly, that's not the case with Blu-ray," said Graffeo. "Many Blu-ray owners will only get advanced features if they buy the next-generation players". Other highlights from the session: 90 new HD DVD titles will be released between now and the end of 2007, bringing the European total to 400 by the end of the year. Toshiba will roll out two new HD DVD players to the European market in October, the 1080p/24 HD-EP30 (349-399 euro) and the higher-end HD-EP35 (449-499 euro). The HD DVD Promo Group's "Five Discs Free" promotion with sales of new HD DVD players will be extended to Europe. Link Lenke til kommentar

Njål Skrevet 1. september 2007 Rapporter Del Skrevet 1. september 2007 Det har blitt annonsert et par nye europeiske HD DVD-titler på IFA også (noen har allerede vært nevnt i Siste HD-disc du kjøpte-tråden, noen er reelle nyheter): Pans labyrint slippes i Tyskland også (og etter hvert sikkert i flere markeder), denne skal i likhet med den franske ha noe ekstramateriell, men usukkert om den har "forståelig" teksting Saw I-III, CSI, Crank, Hannibal Rising, Death Proof, Planet Terror, Bobby slippes i Tyskland, det samme gjør en ny utgave av T2DC (som i motsetning til den franske og engelske utgivelsen skal ha bøttevis med ekstras og interaktivitet, trailer filmet på IFA @ YouTube. The German version (from SENATOR) will have interactive features. I'm not sure why the others don't. Heads up hvis noen tenkte å kjøpe Pan's Labyrinth. Senator vil også slippe Death proof og Planet terror på HD DVD! "Se7en" is coming out on HD DVD in Italy. In Italy, the 3 leading independent content providers are exclusive to HD DVD. Mmmm...Se7en, en absolutt must-have. Kinowelt are bringing all three "SAW" movies to HD DVD. Kan være greit å sjekke hvilke versjoner de slipper dog, tyskerne er flink til å klippe. De skal også slippe Bobby. Universum Film are releasing CSI on HD DVD in Germany. Dette selskapet skal også slippe Crank og Hannibal rising på HD DVD Terminator 2 is being totally redone for Germany: new master, new interactive features.
