GTA4 Online nyheter :D

The April issue of Spain's PSM magazine includes a new preview of GTA IV, which covers the game's multiplayer modes, all 15 of them, in great detail. The most significant development is that the details we posted back in February all turned out to be true.

GTA IV will support sixteen players simultaneously on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network and the fifteen included game modes are as follows: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Mafia Work, Team Mafia Work, Race, GTA Race, Cops 'n' Crooks, Hangman's Noose, Deal Breaker, Turf War, Car Jack City, Bomb Da Base I, Bomb Da Base II, Free Roam

The game host determines the rules of the game prior to it starting, with options for weapons, number of pedestrians, traffic level and police intervention being some of many available.

Players can choose a variety of customizable characters before the game begins on a map which is said to be the same as the single player version.

In the race modes, the host can determine how many laps to undertake and players can shoot and throw grenades from the car. GTA Race is a similar mode, with the added twist that players have the ability to steal opponents cars.

Cops 'n' Crooks splits players into two teams - the cops and the crooks. Cops can see the location of the crooks on the radar and must hunt them down. Crooks don't have the luxury of knowing their rivals' location.

The Mafia Work modes involve assassinations, with one player being earmarked as the target and the rest of the players in the game racing to kill them first.

Hangman's Noose provides a link between the single and multiplayer modes by allowing players to undertake a cooperative mission from the single player mode where a mobster must be escorted and kept alive against the attacks from the pursuing police.

Like endelig liksom :p

The latest issue of PSM Spain has a new article on Grand Theft Auto IV, with 20 new screenshots and the first details on GTA IV's multiplayer system. Here is a list of the new information, which is being updated constantly:

There are 15 multiplayer game modes in GTA IV. PSM had an opportunity to play 7 of them. The rules of each game are determined by the host.

Multiplayer supports upto 16 players.

Your online character is fully customizable. You can alter his race, sex, hair, clothing etc.

PSM Spain has all the first details on GTA IV's multiplayer system.

The game modes featured are as follows:

Hangman's NOOSE

Car Jack City

Bomb da Base

Bomb da Base II

Mafia Work

Team Mafia Work

Deathmatch

Team Deathmatch

Turf War

Cops n Crooks

Race

GTA Race

Deal Breaker

Free Mode

(some other mode?)

In Race and GTA Race, the host gets to decide which vehicles are involved, and the number of laps to be played. You can shoot and throw molotovs from the window, and even steal your rivals' car.

In Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, the host gets to decide whether the police can intervene or not. The host also gets to decide the number of pedestrians, the amount of traffic, and the type of weapons.

In Cops n Crooks, one team play as cops and the other play as criminals. The cops must stop the criminals from escaping. They can monitor the locations of the criminals on their GPS systems, while the criminals have no idea where the cops are.

In Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work, you play as one of Kenny Petrovic's mafia henchmen. You must complete hits ordered by the boss (via the cellphone) before your rivals are able to do so.

A single-player mission called "Hangman's NOOSE" features co-op. You and your friends will be able to escort a mobster, while being pursused by a SWAT team.

The map used in multiplayer is the same map that is used for single player.

Thanks to nevermikel for posting this information at our forum.

That's all for now. Expect more details soon when Games Aktuell goes on sale in a few days! They will have an 8-page

multiplayer preview with new screens (thanks to our friends at GTA-Xtreme.de for the info).
