FORT SMITH, Ark. Sept. 11 — An airliner was diverted to Fort Smith on Wednesday because four passengers behaved strangely on the flight, including at least three who locked themselves in a restroom, possibly shaving their body hair.

No injuries were reported.

Federal officials, speaking on a condition of anonymity, said the incident was not believed to be related to terrorism.

HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) -- An American Airlines flight with 54 people aboard returned to Houston promptly Wednesday after a federal air marshal noticed a passenger with an "unidentifiable object" that later turned out to be a comb, authorities said.

The Transportation Security Administration said there were no scuffles and that the passenger was removed from the plane at a remote site once American Airlines Flight 1702 returned to George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (CNN) -- An Egyptian-registered private jet on a "pre-sale inspection" flight was ordered to land under fighter escort Tuesday at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport because its authorization to fly in U.S. airspace had expired, federal officials said.

Two F-16 fighter jets from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, escorted the plane down at Federal Aviation Administration request, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said. The jets broke off their escort before the aircraft landed after FAA officials said they resolved the situation, NORAD said.

Heather Rosenker, spokeswoman for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, said the pilot was conducting a "pre-sale inspection" of the aircraft. As such, he may not have been aware of the status of the waiver.

NEWARK, N.J. — A ship detained after traces of radioactivity were detected in its cargo was temporarily ordered back to sea, the U.S. Coast Guard said Wednesday.

The Liberian-flagged container ship, the M/V Palermo Senator, was ordered to stay in a security zone six miles offshore while the inspection continues.

The ship was directed to Berth 92 at the Port Newark/Elizabeth Marine Terminal after a Coast Guard team boarded the vessel Tuesday. Team members heard suspicious sounds in several of the ship's cargo holds, but they could not determine their source.

While no evidence of stowaways was found, they determined that the ship's cargo posed a potential risk to public safety. Officials would not provide any details about the cargo.

NAPLES, Florida (AP) -- What started as a routine day for sea turtle monitor Mary Toro turned out to be one of her most memorable after she found a baby turtle with two heads.

"I was shocked. I couldn't believe it," Toro said after finding the creature Thursday morning near Naples Cay.

Federal officials, speaking on a condition of anonymity, said the incident was not believed to be related to terrorism.

Det var da enda godt. Barbering av kroppshår på fly frarådes på det sterkeste. Litt turbulens, barberbladet glipper... Svært positivt at amerikanske myndigheter endelig setter dette problemet på dagsordenen.
