Laptop + PDA til GPS

After having no reply on how could Cassiopeia E - 115 be used for GPS ( believe this is because the model is outdated) I thought of a new idea...

 

I know I can use laptop for navigation, but it is not convenient to have laptop in car open while driving with family in... What if I put laptop under the seat, it would run GPS software and have GPS mouse attached. Then Cassiopea would be connected via COM port (this is the only way I can think of connecting it to PC) and somehow would show me map.... Anybody have an idea for this kind of solution? What software to use, does it work at all?
