Leet is a short for elite. The term is often used by hard-core gamers. They often also use leetspeak amongst their peers. So if a kid is leet, he is either a good gamer or he might also in some circles be looked upon as cool.

In World of Warcraft for example, a leet kid/person is a person who can own more then one player of the opposite faction. That's just an example though.
