Anbefalte innlegg

Den første av de to HL2 filmene blir vist kl 24:00 GMT, dvs 0100 i natt.

We spoke with Gabe Newell & Doug Lombardi this morning on HL Radio. The news is, "Summer 2004" is when HL2 will be released.

However, there is something going on with Counter-Strike. They will release the information tonight during the HL2 presentation.

HalfiLife 2 Multiplayer is Counter-Strike Revamped?

street @ 21:06 - cstrike source - post a comment! - new!

Shacknews, a reputable gaming news site, is posting information on Half-Life 2 multiplayer... and it's Counter-Strike running on the Source engine!

Half-Life 2 multiplayer is Counter-Strike on the Source engine and will be available at the same time as when Half-Life 2 ships. Counter-Strike gameplay doesn't seem to have changed much, if at all.

Source is the highly advanced graphics mechanism behind Half-Life 2. By integrating it with Counter-Strike, Valve make a quantum leap in creating an immersive environment within the game we all know and love. Speculatively, Half-Life 2 includes an impressive physics engine and it's not a huge leap to assume this new CS iteration will include such a feature.

More information is set to be revealed in a Valve presentation this evening, and Shacknews are promising a video of this exciting new Counter-Strike development.

Well we just got back from the HL2 show and there are a few things to note that I'll put in courier just to annoy everyone:

- Half-Life 2 multiplayer is Counter-Strike on the Source engine and will be available at the same time as when Half-Life 2 ships. Counter-Strike gameplay doesn't seem to have changed much, if at all. Graphics of course, are much improved.

- Half-Life 1 is also ported over to the Source engine and will be available at the same time as when Half-Life 2 ships.

- During the presentation, Gabe Newell reiterated that Half-Life 2 is shipping this summer, although no specific date was given.

- Team Fortress 2 was not mentioned at all.

We have also gotten some footage of Counter-Strike running on the Source engine that will be available on FileShack later this evening.

Og dette fra HL2.net...

Eurogamer brings news that Half-Life, its two addons and some of its more popular mods, are to be updated with Half-Life 2's source engine. Valve's managing director, Gabe Newell, stated that they would not be free, instead they are to be released in shops and for payment downloading on Steam, at a probable budget price.

Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, Opposing Force and Blue Shift are also expected to join Half-Life in the update, and can be expected for release at the end of Summer.

You can also check out their lengthy interview with Gabe Newell here. They cover a wide range of topics, from movie talk to Half-Life 2's expansion pack plans.

Eurogamer: Is there much left to do now?

Doug Lombardi: Well, we're hoping to be Beta before the show, before E3, and then after that it'll be at final release candidate stage, so we're targeting to be done for the first half of this summer.

Eurogamer: Have you got a release date yet?

Doug Lombardi: We don't have a release date today, but we hope to have one to announce at E3. Like I say, we hope to be in Beta by E3 and if everything comes together we hope to map out a release date that's a little bit later on in the summer.
