The boss is so famous that any purchase carries the implication that Bill Gates, visionary founder of Microsoft, is personally interested in this Wyoming ranch or that soda manufacturer. But as with those two decades of under-the-radar investments, what Bill Gates likely wants from Cascade is to make money without publicity.

 

No one affiliated with the project appears ever to have called it a “smart city”; the moniker apparently slipped in the door on the coattails of alleged celebrity investor Bill Gates.

Er ikke dette et bra initiativ da?

 

Han kan "risikere" å få det ellers trege USA på miljøvennlighet inn på et nytt spor, samtidig som det utvikler landet enda mer i teknologisk retning. Visjonært?

 

Kan man trekke en parallell til bredbånd. Nå hyler jo folk i Norge opp litt fordi de ikke alle kan få bredbånd. Sånn kan det kanskje bli når "City-tech 1.0" er lansert også, at alle amerikanere vil føle misunnelighet, misnøye over at de ikke får det raskt nok til sin by?
