Aussie Halo 3 hits eBay

Australia, September 10, 2007 - Some people just can't wait. It's only a fortnight or so until the official launch of Halo 3, with September the 25th locked in as the day the Master Chief finishes the fight.

 

But an enterprising (or should that be thieving) Aussie has somehow managed to get his mitts on two retail PAL copies of the game, which he promptly placed on eBay. It's obvious they're the Australian versions, thanks to the whopping big OFLC rating on the front cover (it's an M by the way - doh, no high-level MA15+ violence this time around!)

 

The games sold at first bid for AU$149 - only fifty Australian bucks more for the privilege of playing it a fortnight earlier than the rest of us. We rang Microsoft to see if they'd despatched robotic ninjas with laser eyes to track down the culprits of the leak, and were met with a staunch "No Comment". When quizzed about whether Microsoft would ban the Xbox Live account of any user found to be playing Halo 3 online earlier than the launch date, the same "No Comment" answer was forthcoming.

 

We'd argue that the purchaser shouldn't be punished for scoring the game earlier than MS would have liked, with the onus falling back on the distributors of the game. But we wouldn't be surprised if there's a line in the game's Terms and Conditions forbidding the use of the game at such an early date.

 

If you know the guy who was lucky enough to grab these two copies of Halo 3, or the git foolish enough to knick them from work, post the details in the comments section below. We promise Microsoft isn't looking…

Fytti. Nå gleder jeg meg ikke akkurat noe mindre til Halo 3. Tror jeg kommer til å sitte klistra til skjermen i hele høst og vinter med multiplayeren.

Forresten, kjøper nesten alle Halo pga. multiplayer eller? Spilte litt på betaen, og var jo helt greit men ikke så morsomt. Liker singleplayer-delen best jeg.

De fleste av oss kjøper Halo 3 på grunn av hele spillet jeg ser mest frem til story mode, men jeg gleder meg også veldig mye til Forge og slikt i MP

Husk at det er 12 maps og vilt mange modes i fullversjonen da, var ikke så mye i Mp beta'n.
