Syntes det hørtes litt "dodgy" ut.. det _var_ sikkert en super skjerm, men kilden din sier jo ikke noe om tekniske spesifikasjoner.. oppgir jo ting som 2 ganger ditt og 5 ganger datt.. det er ikke noe bra mål på ting Når det gjelder skjermen så kan du håpe at oyvind_dahle dukker opp i posten din (aspirerende LCD-guru (ikke LSD-)) evt send ham en PM.. En så gammel LCD skjerm har vel også noe høyere responstid, så det begrenser jo bruksområdene. (testet i 99?)

 

Det skjermkortet er vel ikke noe å samle på lengre.. skal du ha noe bra i 2D så går du for feks Matrox.. skal du ha noe i 3D så står du veldig fritt til å velge mellom de ledende merkene..

 

$400 for det der høres ut som blodpris, men det er min mening.

 

Jeg tolker det ut i fra posten din at dette er en økonomisak, så å kjøpe et nytt skjermkort og ny skjerm blir for dyrt..

Den egner seg ikke til spill, men hvordan vil en film se ut med 40 ms respons ?

film... vel for 24 bilder pr sek så blir det 1000ms/24= 41.67ms pr bilde.

Om dette er reelt vet jeg ikke. For hhv 25 og 30 bilder pr sek ser det ikke så lovende ut.

 

Monitoren var sikkert helt unik i sin tid. Det er jo langt hyggeligere oppløsning på den enn på nye skjermer i dag.

Dette er en veldig god skjerm, til video og grafikk er SGI overlegen.

 

Når det gjelder skjermkortet er det nok bra ilag med skjermen, husk

dette er ikkje kort laget for spilling.

Disse proff kortene er laget for video og grafikk, har selv et 10 års

gammelt PCI 12" kort (ThunderColor), dette er også et spesialkort

som ikkje er egnet for spilling, men er fortsatt helt i toppen når det gjelder

farger. Kostet over 20 000 nytt dette, vil anta at det som er prat om

her ligger på samme nivå.

 

For å si det kort, dette er en skjerm og kort som ikkje er egnet til spilling,

men er glimrende til grafikk og video.

Det er vel ingen som sier noe om spilling her

Han har jo sagt hva han skal bruke det til. Jeg holder fremdeles fast på at et Matrox-kort (P650 eller p750) vil være en fornuftig oppgradering fra det aldrende PCI kortet.

"LCDs are inherently brighter than CRT's, but the 1600SW takes it to a new level with brightness of 235cd/m2 maximum (about 3 times a CRT) with contrast as high as 350:1 (5 times a CRT). The ability to display high-contrast images without loss of detail in gray, shadow areas was remarkable. As with other LCD's, the image is totally flicker-free; however, the 1600SW shows no observable ghosting, a problem with other LCD's. Ghosting is the result of the relatively slow refresh rate of LCD panels, with most limited to a maximum of 10Hz regardless of signal. The 1600SW pixels refresh at 30Hz."

 

Til sammenligning så ligger dagens LCD skjermer på 250 cd/m2 og har kontrastforhold på rundt 400-750:1. Det som virkelig er beundringsverdig er oppløsningen.. 1600x1024.
