xp setup nekter å finne sata

SATA disk Barracuda 7200.7 160Gb

 

2*512Mb PC3200 ddr

 

AMD XP2600+

 

Windows XP Pro

 

Well I'm trying to get my new system running but

I've hit a snag. Windows XP setup runs from the

CD-ROM, but it eventually gets to the point

where it doesn't detect a hard drive.

My Abit board came with a, Sata driver diskette,

which I suspect is the one it wanted at the

beginning by pressing F6. So I pressed F6 and

it eventually asked for the disk, and I put it

in. It recognized the driver it wanted to use,

and started back up again. Then when it gets

to the point where it asks if you want to

install or repair XP. I press enter to

continue as it asks.

 

And it said there's no hard drive - press

F3 to quit.

 

Then I tried to install win98.

 

Guess what! It worked.

 

But I need Win XP to run

 

Then I tried XP again without any luck.

AND the same shit happens with Win2000.

 

 

Is there somethin I'm doing wrong here?
