[Løst] Gnome vil ikke starte etter Nvidia driver inst Arch Linux

Har installert Arch Linux. Når jeg kjører startx får jeg en svart skjerm med text. Altså ingen ting starter.Det kommer opp en error main.c: Daemon startup failed

Har installert pulseaudio, alsa-plugins.

Hei. Du har lagt til gdm i rc.conf sant?

Har du laga en xorg.conf? Hvis du har det så prøver du få fjerne den.

Jeg har ikke laga noen xorg.conf på mine Arch installasjoner iallefall og de starter fint.

Hvis det ikke fungerer så kan du prøve å installere enten nouveau-dri eller xf86-video-nv

Siden at du har et nokså nytt Nvidia skjermkort, så skulle man tro at pacman -S nvidia skulle gå greit, men.

Jeg har ikke laget noen xorg.conf

Har ikke lagt til gdm i rc.conf siden jeg har prøvd det en gang før men gjør det nå.

Funker med nouveau driver men jeg vil ha ytelse på mitt GTX 580 kort. Trenger full ytelse.

EDIT: Prøvde og legge til GDM under daemons men ingen hjelp

Virker nå.

Måtte legge til dbus i rc.conf

og redigere /etc/inittab til og kjøre lvl 5 og x:5:respawn:/usr/sbin/gdm -nodaemon

Hei igjen. Fint at du fant det ut da. Men uannsett, så skal det vel ikke være nødvendig å legge til dbus i rc.conf, men så lenge det fungerer, så har det ikke noe å si.

Jeg tror faktisk Dbus starter selv om jeg ikke har lagt den til. Lurer på om jeg leste det at den startet uannsett, og det viser seg egentlig at det fungerer.
