Trøbbel med dagens patch (15/01/07)

Blizz' patching-bonanza tar ingen ende, og dagens patch resulterte i følgende beskjed hos meg:

 

Er litt fortvilet mtp at TBC kommer i morgen, og jeg vil helst spille litt da.

 

Av ting jeg har prøvd kan det nevnes å bruke den veike repair-toolen til blizz, som finner en kritisk feil, "reparer" og lar meg installerer 4-5 patcher på nytt før jeg får den sanmme feilen. Har også slettet WTF og Interface.

 

Jeg vet jo at en reinstallasjon kan løse problemet, men jeg vet også at dette fort kan ta 2-3 timer med all patcingen og cd-skiftingen, så hvis man ikke har noe mer konstruktivt å bidra med enn det kan man egentlig la være.

Error 131

 

The "Error 131" error message is usually caused by corrupt game files.

 

The first approach to resolving this error should always be the repair tool. The repair tool is located in the World of Warcraft folder called repair.exe:

Right Click on the World of Warcraft Shortcut and choose Properties

Click the Find Target button in the bottom left of the Shortcut tab.

This will display the World of Warcraft folder.

Double Click on the Repair program and choose the Reset and Check files option.

This will create a backup of your WTF, WDB and Interface folders before resetting them and then begin scanning your installation for any problems.

Please use this tool, it will try to repair any corruption that exists, if it is unable to you may need to follow up with the next step.

 

The second step, as the repair tool will sometimes advise, is to reinstall World of Warcraft. Before reinstalling, be sure to uninstall World of Warcraft first by using the provided short-cut placed in World of War crafts Start Menu folder or by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in the Control Panel.

To begin troubleshooting this error we will have to see the complete error log. This error will have created a text file in the World of Warcraft\Errors folder. Please locate the most recent error file there and copy and paste the contents in a new thread below.
