Hjelp til å skaffe Prarie Chicken

Jeg så på en side at man kan skaffe seg en hel haug med non-attack pets, og jeg forelsket meg i Prarie chicken. Jeg er horde så det jeg lurer på er om det tilfeldigvis er en alliance som spiller på Bloodscalp som kunne skaffet en Special chicken feed for meg og solgt den til meg på AH i Gadgetzan elr en annen nøytral AH?

PRAIRIE CHICKEN – CLUCK! THE WEIRDEST QUEST IN THE GAME!

 

 

 

You can get a cool Prairie Chicken pet at level five, maybe lower – for 25 copper! But you get it only if you’re willing to seriously humiliate yourself. Is this worth it? I don’t know. But when I first started hearing about this seriously odd quest I assumed it was a joke. It was just too bizarre to be real, I thought, even for Blizzard. But no, I promise, it is real. I just did it.

 

 

 

You go to Elwynn Forest or Westfall and find a chicken, any chicken. The second cottage pretty much due south of Stormwind has about a dozen, and they’ll do. In fact if you are very low level (under lvl 10) I’d do this with Elwynn Forest chickens. But chickens at Saldean’s Farm in Westfall will work, too (level 10 Coyotes will harass you at Saldean’s). If you can find chickens elsewhere, they may work. But I can’t confirm zones other than Westfall and Elwynn.

 

 

 

Okay, the information I had said to select a chicken (target it) and do the /chicken emote over and over. Spam the chicken with it, my information said. Well, I made a macro button (hit /macro and follow this instructions in the window you get; type the command /chicken in the correct slot). The information I had said that if you spam a chicken with “/chicken” enough it will “turn green” and give you a special message.

 

 

 

I felt like a fool. A player came by and stared at me, but I kept doing it… and doing it… and doing it. I decided to start counting as I spammed my /chicken button, and sure enough, on the 53d time, the yellow “circle” denoting that the chicken was targeted turned green! I got a message that I should inspect the chicken. The arrow became a dialog box (normally it’s a sword), so I right clicked and got a quest window. I read something like “Buck-buck-bugawk!” – chicken noises. I’m not joking, I swear. The chicken, it said, was scratching something that looked like “SALDEAN” in the dirt. Then the window went away before I could accept!

 

 

 

That was frustrating. It was very laggy when I tried this (I’d left my email on, too, so I think it was messing up WoW), so I recommend not doing this if there is a lot of lag. At least the quest seemed real, so I decided I’d better buy the Special Chicken Feed (which you need to finish the quest) in Westfall and try again. I ran west along Elwynn’s main road to Westfall and went south down the road to Saldean’s farm (hit M, it’s on the zone’s main map). If you’ve never explored Westfall it’s one of the farms closest to Elwynn – basically the second farm down, just south of Jansen’s Stead. If you are under level 7 or 8 it will be challenging to get there, and you may need to ask someone to escort you. Or try death-hopping there. It is doable at low levels (unless there is a quest restriction – I’d get to level 5 first just to be sure). Just try outrunning any coyotes that attack you.

 

 

 

At Saldean’s farm, Farmer Saldean (who stands in front of his house) will in fact sell you a bag of Special Chicken Feed for 25 copper. I bought one and then found one of his chickens behind his house. If I were lower level I would have gone back to Elwynn to finish it (to get away from the Coyotes). Anyway, I recommend buying the feed first and then start the quest (start emoting /chicken at a chicken).

 

 

 

I spammed another chicken with “/chicken” again, over 50 times, maybe 100 this time – and got a quest window again. But still it didn’t register! Lag! I tried another chicken and spammed away. This time when it turned green and I got the window, I got an “accept quest” button – and it worked. Quest accepted: CLUCK! Yes, cluck! Oh, I forgot – the accept window said once I had the feed I had to /cheer at the chicken. I did this with the chicken that gave me the quest, but apparently any chicken will do. I did /cheer to the chicken, and a big yellow “?” appeared over its head. Again, I am not lying.

 

 

 

I right clicked it and did the finish quest buttons (“giving it the feed”). It laid an egg and walked off. Again, I’m not lying. There was an egg there on the ground. Hovering the arrow over it, I got the “gear” function. I right clicked and got a “chicken egg” in the reward window. It bound to me picking it up, and right-clicking the egg produced a plain, white “prairie chicken” pet (looks like a normal white chicken)! I’ll include a picture.

 

 

 

IMPORTANT: when doing the /chicken part, click “accept quest” as fast as possible. Don’t hesitate or you will lose the window and have to do the emote part all over again. It’s on a fast timer apparently. You can read the funny text in the quest log window after you get the quest. Don’t fool around reading it as the window appears – just get the silly quest so you can stop spamming /chicken!

 

 

 

I don’t know if the “egg” can be stolen from you. I’d hope not, but once the chicken lays the egg, I’d loot it quick just in case. This is another reason to do this quest when no one is looking! I’ve done the quest with another character on a non-laggy day, and it worked much better (but I had to try doing /cheer and ending it several times – the quest seems buggy – keep trying, you’ll get your chicken).

 

 

 

What’s really weird is that I bet a Hoard guy could do this quest, too. If he could buy Special Chicken Feed in the Gadgetzan AH and then brave a trip to Elwynn or Westfall, I bet he could get one, too (if he’s willing to cluck enough at a chicken!). I may even create an Orc to see if I can do it! Hah. I mean, come on, how many Orc Warriors have little white Prairie Chicken pets?! Such an Orc would rock!

 

 

 

Again, this is all real. I just did it. Take a look at the screenshot if you don’t believe me. And go get your Prairie Chicken if you want. I promise not to laugh at you!

 

 

 

That’s all the fun, non-combat pets I know about. There are a lot of attack-pets, and those will have to appear in another guide. Most are made with Gnomish Engineering, but quite a few are quest rewards (many reward attack-pets have “charges” – say three uses and they poof). Other pets have one use and I think are for quests.

Du kjøper foret av farmer Saldean i Westfall. Du må føst lage en makro (/chicken) og gjøre dette for en av de Prarie Chicken til den blir "friendly", du må gjøre det ca 100 ganger, da får du en quest om å fore den, og foret kjøper du av farmer Saldean. Etter det legger den et egg, som du plukker opp. Når du høyreklikker på det har du ditt eget kylling pet:) Lykke til!
