"Indeed I have uploaded Wincmd 5.1 to Simtel and Winsite last night. Winsite has reacted very quickly and has put 5.1 online, but only the 32-bit version - the 16-bit is still at 5.0. I will update my site to 5.1 probably later today when the 16-bit version becomes available too.

 

Why 5.1 and not 5.5? In the last few weeks, I got a lot of e-mails why Wincmd cannot unpack RAR3 archives. Therefore I decided to release an interim update 5.1 which contains the new Unrar.dll and which fixes a lot of small problems found during the last half year. Since the big new features (RTF viewer, file comments, file system plugins) still need considerable work, I postponed them to version 5.5, which is planned for this Autumn.

 

I strongly recommend that you update to version 5.1. I will send the update information mailing probably during the weekend."
