Ken Kutaragi has said in a new interview that the Playstation 3 may come with Linux preinstalled on the machine's hard drive and mentioned photo and video editing as possible functions for the OS.

 

The new focus on operating systems is part of the company's positioning of the PS3 as a supercomputer rather than just a games console or toy, which is how he describes the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution.
