Jeg var nå hos naboen en tur, og spurte om å låne XP maskina deres, for de henger seg på vårt trådløse.(laptop). Så gikk ejg på nettverkssteder. Der fant jeg linux serveren, og det stod noe med samba i navnet der. nå jeg prøvde å connecte, kom det noe med at parameteren var feil, og at han ikke hadde tilgang dit, hør med administrator.

Jeg sjekker fra en laptop med XP på.
Jeg tror den er i "Workgroup", så jeg prøvde å flytte den til MSHOME. Men det hjalp ikke en dritt, så jeg flyttet den til WORKGROUP igjen.
Jeg vet ikke hva jeg gjorde, men i "min datamaskin" på laptopen, så kommer det opp "Frakoblet nettverksstasjon (H:)". Om det var relevant for deg?

Men når jeg prøvde å kjøre sudo /etc/init.d/samba reload i stad, fikk ejg opp en eller annen feilmelding, så jeg restartet i steden. Husker ikke hva feilmeldingen var. Men jeg skal prøve det

Nå tror jeg at jeg har gjort riktig. Satt security = share i samba conf fila og alt. Har satt opp på "shared folders" og finner den i "mshome" i networks.
MEN jeg finner den ikke på XP maskina mi? Hvor skal den finnes?

Nå har jeg gjort det. Og jeg kommer så langt til den boksen som ber deg installere NFS og SMB. Der huker jeg av begge og trykker install, men den installerer ikke og bare hopper tilbake til det vinduet med hakene. Det tyder jo på at samba er installert fra før av.

Men ejg har ubuntu installert på maskinen som skal være server. Dette grunnet at jeg har prøvd å installe windows ca 20 ganger, men etter 12 timer ber den meg om å aktivere og masse piss. men jeg skal ikke ha løsninger på det nå. Jeg vil ha det enkelt og greit i ubuntu

Jeg gjør ikke det. Men måten jeg bruker FTP'en på er så enkel, med "drag 'n drop" jeg vil ha noe liknende opplegg her og.
MEN nå har jeg installert ubuntu 7.10 på maskinen. Hva skal ejg da gjøre videre? For ejg ønsker automatisk pålogging. Denne maskina skal stå bortgjemt, uten skjerm, uten tastatyr, sånn at det bare er å starte den, så går alt av seg selv
