Fjern Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "on"

For øvrig har jeg et Radeon 9550, og det fungerer utmerket.

Det skilles vel gjerne ikke direkte på PCI og AGP i Linux så vidt jeg vet. Det er korrekt at det skal stå PCI.

Ja, du har nok rett. Det virket som det var AGPgart det var trøbbel med ifølge Xorg.0.log'en.

(Kan det være mulig at de nyere driverne fra ATI ikke inneholder egen apggart lenger, derav feilen pga den var satt til å bruke fglrx sin i xorg.conf? Vi får se hva ZeS sier når han prøver uten, slik du tipset han om.)

Hva slags feilmelding i /var/log/Xorg.0.log får du?

Når du prøver uten UseInternalAGPGART og restarter xorg, har du da (på forhånd) prøvd å loade kjernemodueln agpgart, dvs den vises når du lister opp de lastede modulene med

lsmod | grep agp

Hvis ikke kan du jo prøve å laste den inn før du restarter xorg:

sudo modprobe agpgart

(vet ikke om det egentlig er nødvendig, men verdt et forsøk -- men det kommer nok litt an på hva feilmeldingen i Xorg.0.log sier).

Hmmm.... Kom til å tenke på at jeg en gang i tiden hadde ett svært prosjekt med å installere drivere til ett 9800Pro kort! Skal lete i "arkivet" mitt og se om jeg finner noe nyttig.

Ok, her er det jeg fant ut:

- Sjekk om det er noen andre moduler som bruker grafikk chippen. f. eks: $ lsmod | grep radeon

- Sett Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "no" slik at fglrx ikke bruker sin egen agpgart men den til kernelen...

det virker som om agpgart loades nå. har ikke kuka no med det idag, og når jeg kjørte lsmod | grep agp fikk jeg opp

Så om jeg legger inn det du har postet i den nest siste posten din, i mine konfigurasjonsfiler, så fungerer alt perfekt? Har et Radeon 9800 SE på en fersk Feisty Fawn installasjon.

EDIT: Hvordan finner/endrer jeg disse filene? Er Linux-nybegynner, installerte første gang i dag.

EDIT2: Synes det stod "løst" i navnet på tråden jeg, sorry... :blush: Håper du finner ut av det til slutt da
