Hey

kjøpte meg CD-key og var klar til å lage ny konto..

Lastet ned STEAM fra steampowered.com, og lagde meg en konto..

Alt gikk glatt, til jeg skulle logge meg på.. "...problem with your internet connection, or with the STEAM network.."

Står det noe lignende Error:Steam error: SteamMountFilesystem failed with error 200: Receive Failure, WinSock Error 10045 "Operation not supported on socket" ?

Anbefales også minst SP1 for at en del programmer skal virke, eventuelt prøvd å deaktivere windows brannmur?

Eventuelt prøv noe av følgende:

I remember going through a bunch of things when a customer had this very issue. It turned out that a piece of spyware had screwed up the LSP layer of XP. In the end I had to reset it using LSP-FIX (a Winsock repair tool). After rebooting it seemed to work fine. If you run it though you will need to run a few broadband tweaks to get the speed back up to normal.

I should point out that in trying to find a solution I had gone through Valves "Steampowered Support" page, and these are a couple of other tricks to try first:

1) Go into your main Steam folder (C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam), and rename a file called ClientRegistry.blob to ~ClientRegistry.blob or some such name. What this will do is force Steam to update itself.

2) In the C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\config folder is a file called masterservers.vdf . Rename it to masterservers.bak, then restart Steam.

Of note, if #1 doesn't work then delete the file mentioned in #2 first, then follow #1. Also, these 2 solutions seemed to help a lot of people.

3) If you are on a router, double check the port settings. Normally Steam will work fine with UPNP routers, but sometimes it can seriously screw up. As a test assign your computer as a DMZ in the router settings. If it let's you through then you will need to route the Steam ports through it. One piece of info that kept cropping up was how inconsistant Zone Alarm can be in regards to Steam. Even with ZA set to allow Steam through it can still block it. Valves advice was to disable any software firewall (Windows FW or other), and see what happens when you try to run Steam again.

Steam Ports:

UDP 1200 (used for friends service)

UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive

TCP 27020 to 27039 inclusive

4) Reinstall Steam. You can do that from THIS (http://steampowered.com/index.php?area=getsteamnow) page. You may need to do a fresh reinstall of Steam first by going into add/remove programs, uninstalling Steam, then reinstalling Steam from the link. What people don't mention is what effect this will have on installed Steam games/apps. So, word of warning: this may also uninstall those as well.

5) Lastly, over and over again I kept reading about how "Steam.exe, and all related *.dll files can become corrupted". Nice. As a fix you can delete Steam.exe, and all related *.dll files that are in the root folder that Steam.exe is in. After that, reinstall Steam from the link I supplied.

Hope that gets you somewhere.
