Endre Skrevet 7. november 2003 Skrevet 7. november 2003 Dette er hva jeg kaller modding *grin* Tråd We`ve resoldered a lot of stuff here, It all started from fixing my m8`s 9800. And then i decided to boost my ram a bit by changing it to 2,5ns. I dont have photos of my resoldering because it lasted 2 days and about 12 hours, but i`ve pictured a 9800 fixing process. Here ya go. Thats our oven we used for soldering. Yah i know it doesn`t look too professional. But it gives a 300 Celsius so what the hell. A grabber is on the chip. It makes removing the chip much easier. A closup of the chip: It cant be seen on the pictures but the card is BOILING. You can take any part and just raise it from the PCB. Our choice is the mem chip as you understand Ok, the chip is ours! Puting the chip back is much easier and can be done with a normal heatgun. Just put the chip in the place and make it hot. The 2.8 chip to fix this card was taken form my m8`s old Ti4600. Some people say its not a real 9500 anymore, but i dont think so. I plan soldering a 9500 chip on a 9800 PCB to get some more 9500 scores, but i dont know how this stuff is gonna work, because aven ATI know nothing about such a frankenstein. The chips are compatible, and a 9800 chip on 9500 pcb works. I hope it will work the other way too with a proper bios...
