Blir spennende å se hva slags utstyr (spesifikt) det dreier seg om, og om det kan gi noe revolusjonerende til stuene våre. Centrino var jo ikke så verst for bærbare.

The Inquirer har en interessant artikkel om Intels "East Fork" for dem som lurer på hva dette innebærer:

 

East Fork off key

First, lets explore what East Fork (EF) is. It is basically a media server PC on steroids with a lot of interesting software. The downside is that it is aiming for you, not aimed at you. The first iteration, due out in Q1 2006, is based on a Smithfield dual core Pentium 4 with the Lakeport and ICH7-DH chipsets, a fairly plain combo.

Back to EF though, there are a lot of problems, and it mainly starts with exclusive support for Microsoft DRM. There is no other, and as of the last time I checked, there will not be. Intel refuse to comment on unannounced products, but others have told me there is nothing but Microsoft DRM.

Nei, det betyr ikke det. DRM er integrert i hw, som på et hovedkort.

Nothing but Microsoft DRM :

 

Kan jo bety så mangt, alt fra at kun microsoft produkter kan kjøres på maskina (noe som burde utlåse enda en antitrust kamanje) til at microsoft skal verifisere all software.

Ikke bra.

 

Det er greit at et produkt er DRM kompatibelt men det burde ikke være DRM låst.
